Eren Design & Remodel

Tested Steps for a Clean Job Site

Remodeling makes a mess. There are no two ways about it. If you talk to a contractor who tells you different, think twice before using him.

I’ve been in this industry a long time. The dusty truth of it is, rooms get dirty before they get nice and polished. Because there’s drywall to rip out, boards to cut, wood to sand, and walls to paint. There’s tile to install, cabinets to build, and counters to set.

However, some job sites are indeed cleaner than others. Like people, some remodelers are cleanlier. When it comes to your home, you want to work with someone who is clean.

The Cleanliness of Your Remodeler Matters

Letting dirt and grime build up on a job site can cause serious issues down the line. For example, your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system is responsible circulating warm and cold air throughout your home. It’s designed to handle the dust of daily life. But the dust created from a remodeling project is far from daily. Unless the appropriate precautions are taken, your remodeling project can wreak havoc on your HVAC, ultimately reducing air quality.

5 Steps Eren Design Takes to Protect Your Home

1. Build Clean Dust Control System

Rather than rely on your home to filter the air, we bring a portable air filtration system to every job site. These small, portable machines trap dust and grime so that it doesn’t permeate your home.

We’ve tried a lot of different air filtration systems. Build Clean is far and away the best. From the moment we began using this product we saw a noticeable difference in air quality and reduction in dust left on surfaces.

2. Sweep Daily

Whether you’re living through a remodel (more on that in a second) or you’re stopping by to see our progress, the space needs to be safe. This is why at the end of every day we do a thorough sweep of the entire job site. The daily sweep helps keep dust to a minimum and remove any potentially dangerous items, like nails, which might be loose on the floor.

3. Store Tools Each Night

In addition to sweeping, out team stores all tools and equipment each night. We check the area for any potential tripping hazards. And, we make sure any necessary access points are available.

4. Cover All Valuables

For a lot of clients, we’re working in a single room of their home. This means the other rooms are still filled with the business of living, such as TVs, couches, and dishes. Prior to doing any project, we carefully cover any valuables so that they aren’t damaged during the process.

5. Seal Living Spaces

For clients who choose to live through the remodel, we take even more precautions. To keep your living space clean, we completely seal it off from the job site. A sturdy plastic barrier is used to over any doorways or entry points.
