Our Remodeling Process
Proven Steps For Your Successful Remodel
We use our carefully defined steps to ensure every project reveals your home’s potential in ways you never dreamed possible.
How do you want to use your space? Your initial meeting always begins with this question, no matter the size of your renovation project. Sitting down with one of our highly skilled designers, we’ll explore your goals and any ideas you have.
We’ll examine current remodeling trends. Together we’ll pinpoint friction spots you’d like to eliminate from your home’s existing design. Additionally, we’ll discuss important project considerations such as budgeting, timelines, and preferred methods of communication.
It was a pleasure to work with Eren Design on two remodeling projects with spectacular results. Our first project (2004) was a total home remodel, inside and out -- anything that could be changed was changed.
The second (2012) was a smaller extension and "tweaking" of some spaces. All were done professionally and expertly, with attention to every detail, excellent support and assistance in making design decisions.
If I were to summarize the experience working with Eren Design is that they are devoted to seeing that you get the result you want and they are magicians in finding solutions to every problem, no matter how big or small.
The design phase is when your ideas start to take shape. Should you decide to move forward with us following your initial consultation, we’ll ask you to sign a design agreement and will set an appointment for your next steps.
Our designer will return to your home, capture photos, and review your existing floor plan and conditions. Three preliminary concept drawings will be sketched. Then, we’ll walk you through the designs and refine the project based on your feedback.
This process is collaborative. It’s what allows our team to help you achieve your needs and desires. Each recommendation we make is about helping your reveal the full potential of your home.
No detail is left to chance. During the planning phase, we generally conduct a discovery process to reveal any potential cost drivers. These could include the need to update an electrical panel or plumbing lines. Our designer will guide you through a selection process, during which you’ll get to pick the materials for your update.
This planning and specification stage is one of the keys to our team’s success. It is what allows our design-to-build approach to feature a fixed-bid process. At the end of the planning phase we’ll sign a construction agreement, which will outline the estimated timeline for your project and exactly how much it will cost.
We start the construction phase with a pre-construction conference. At this time, you, your designer, and your newly assigned project manager will meet. Throughout construction, your project manager will be your on-site point of contact. They will be responsible for ordering supplies, scheduling trade contractors, and maintaining strict quality controls.
During this phase, weekly meetings at your home are conducted at a time that works for you. These meetings allow your project manager to share updates about the progress of your project and review your schedule. They also provide the opportunity for periodic visits from your designer and our company president, Janice Donald.
In the final days of your remodel, we’ll do a “final walk through” together. During this phase we’ll review all physical changes that have been made to your home and note any details that still need attention.
Once the project is wrapped up, we’ll thoroughly clean the entire job site, remove the dumpster, and shift to periodic follow up visits.
